Organization Description
Comprehensive Power designs and manufactures high-performance energy systems including motors, generators, controls and drives that dramatically improve the provision of power to a growing range of demanding market sectors including oil field, specialized marine, defense and alternative energy.
Located in Marlboro, MA, the company is 13 years old and is transitioning from a custom engineering design shop into a products company, with a new line of modular, configurable permanent magnet motors, generators and drives.
Job Description
The Industry Sales/Marketing Manager is the company's commercial interface with one of four industry segments and is directly responsible for sales and marketing to that segment. This role includes setting and meeting revenue and market share goals, identifying and winning target accounts, developing distribution channels as necessary, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining a promotional strategy including communications and tracking, and responding to worldwide competitor activity.
The Industry Sales/Marketing Manager, with the assistance of an Applications Engineer, provides sales technical support as required, sets pricing, creates configuration guides and quotation formats, creates product specifications, as well as acceptance test and facilities requirements documentation and delivers monthly, quarterly and yearly order forecasts.
The Industry Sales/Marketing Manager develops sales tools and collateral for both existing and new products,
prepares an annual sales plan and overall budget to ensure success, and acts as the industry segment champion within the company.
Qualifications
Must be a US citizen
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science preferred. (MBA preferred)
Minimum of 3 years experience as an industry marketing manager, sales manager, product Manager or Product Marketing Manager either in, or selling to, the military, alternative energy, oilfield or marine power marketplace
Demonstrated success in marketing and selling technology products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical background, with experience in motors preferred
Excellent teamwork skills
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
Freedom to travel internationally. Must be able to travel 25% of the time
